The Weather was Amazing Today

It was one of those days that kinda catches you by surprise.

It was rather cool for a day in May. The humidity seemed at an all time low. There was a nice breeze that made you feel alive with it’s chilly fingers. Why does it feel like October?

I spent the day working in the office/shed or Shed-Quarters, if you will. JamieLee schooled the boys. They ended up playing soccer in the side yard. Nothing out of the ordinary.

My cousin Kook stopped by in the afternoon. JamieLee and Kook made their way to the back porch to talk about babies and breast feeding. Kook is pregnant and will be expecting in October.

When I finally was able to get off from work, I was pretty excited to get out side and work. It’s days like this that I have a hard time paying attention. I want to be outside and feel the breeze and drink deep the early days of. summer before it gets to hot.

I worked on cleaning up the neglected side yard while listing to a podcast about hiking. The grass was short or nearly dead from the many games of soccer the boys played. I had some pallets to tear down and prep for the next fire pit. Fixed a bench where the boards has gotten loose. Cut some branches into usable logs and stacked them by the fire pit. I decided to move the lawnmower and wheel barrow to a place in the yard will it will seem less noticeable. I guess we will see how long it lives there.

Sitting on the back porch

Jamie served us organic pasta with homemade red sauce with ground beef and peppers. We sat outside at the picnic table and once again breathed deep the fresh air. We said grace and dived in. I didn’t realize how hungry I was after working in the yard. Thankful for an amazing wife who can cook so well

One of my favorite things these days is watering the grass and plants in the later after moon. It’s peaceful time and I can reflect on the day.

Today was a good day!
